New Hire , Likelihood of ORD 175 or LGA 145?

Hello All,
Thanks for taking the time to read.

Im a flight instructor with a class date on Sept. 24th. I originally applied to be a 'Cadet' 2 months ago (first bid on plane and base on start date) however because I got the flight hours so quickly they on-boarded me as an FO (not a cadet). I'm 22 which means i'd probably get the last pick of plane and base and was wondering what the chances were of getting to ORD right out of training (no preference on plane) and if not, how long it would take to get there?

I don't really have an answer for you but I do have a question. Did they have like a target date for you as a cadet? I don't get why they didn't let you stay a cadet and go to class?

The person at recruitment told me I had to have been a cadet instructor for something around 3 months to get qualified for it and that’s 3 months from the day they onboarded me

Junior people in class have been getting ORD 175 lately. You might get stuck with LGA 145 but even if you do if you only wanna go to ORD you’re gonna be ok. They’re doing unlimited free hotels and enhanced commuting to NY for your first 3 months after IOE, and by the time that runs out you’ll most likely be in Chicago

My class started July 30th and we were able to choose between nine 175 drops at ORD or DFW. All 9 could have gone either direction as there was no cap in either direction.

Even if you don’t get ORD right away, there will likely be a vacancy bid while you’re in training and you’ll be able to get a transfer to ORD before you’re on the line.

I wouldn’t sweat it, ORD’s a good base and junior for FO’s, not difficult to get.

What is enhanced commuting?

Are you saying that in the July 30th class there were options to pick 175 DFW?

1000 hr 121 time or equivalent. The EMJ and CRJ were both unfilled last vacancy.
