Mountain Air Cargo

Debating between regionals and maybe heading to mountain air cargo. End goal is FedEx. I worked for Fedex 10years on operations side and know they like hiring people who worked there and came back. Obviously had to leave to build flight time. Looking for best option with QOL and pay. With mountain air, are you home everyday? Currently flying cargo and at 1300hrs. Any help/suggestions appreciated.

Your chances of getting on with Fedex will be better if you go to the Regionals. It is somewhat counterintuitive.

UPS and Fedex have historically not hired many of their feeder pilots.

Quality of life will probably be better at the Regionals too. Feeder pilots only fly around 500-600 hours per year, but the problem is the long duty hours and all the time that you spend away from home. With the airlines, you get a 2 week on, 2 week off schedule so you can have more of a life.

The one we all dream of.

There are some 135s in Alaska with a 2 on, 2 off schedule.

Does MAC still offer the floater position?
