Weird curiosity: When flying for Republic, are you assigned to one particular airline flag (i.e Delta Connection, United Express, American Eagle), or is it possible to fly under multiple flags in one day?

You'll fly as one codeshare per pairing/trip. Depending on your base you may or may not fly all codeshares regularly.

e.g. EWR is UA only. LGA is AA and DL. CMH has all three.

Operationally they are almost identical to each other.

CMH has a good mix of all three. It's a great way to see everyone's operation.

It didn't take me long to accidentally thank passengers flying a Delta aircraft for flying with United.

That’s why it’s best to never use the codeshare name in any announcements. You wouldn’t belieeeeeeeeeeeve some of the petty crap that will put a serious twist in some people’s knickers.

so, if you were DCA based, does that mean you'd only fly AA? Or does it mean that your first day of your trip you fly AA since DCA is their base, then that evening you end at LGA, the next morning for your second day, could you fly under DL?

DCA has all 3 codeshares. Each pairing you'll be assigned to fly will all be for the same codeshare.

Oh wow I had no idea. I thought that since it’s an AA hub, that would be the primary out of DCA. Thanks for the info

Your suspicions are correct, 56% of DCA pairings are AA. 34% DL and 10% UA. It varies a bit month to month.

And if you’re a reserve pilot or reassigned, you may fly all three in one day!
