Hi everyone,

I am currently researching flight schools in the Chicago area. Does anyone have any recommendations for schools where I can obtain my PPL?

Windy City Flyers appears to be a great choice, but seems rather expensive compared to other options. I live in Lakeview/LP area and don't have a car. I found Aviation Professionals Incorporated based out of Midway, which seems like it could be a good choice due to public transportation.

Any insight or tips would be greatly appreciated.

It would be nice to get away a bit, Lake in The Hills, or similar. Training at Midway doesn’t sound like much fun.

I am not too excited about MDW, but it is accessible by public transportation which is nice. Boraam aviation at Chicago Executive looks promising as well. It may take a bit to get out there on the Metra though. Plan is to schedule a discovery flight in the next two weeks.

In case anyone was wondering I ended up doing a discovery flight with FlyThereLLC out of Chicago Executive in Wheeling. Great experience and hoping to get my PPL with them in the future.
