Just curious how painful commuting would be and if people actually do it. I have the feeling it’s a mostly live in base airline but it’s hard to tell from the outside looking in. Moving to Hawaii seems great and all.... but also super expensive so I’m just trying to see if there are any alternatives to relocating there. Thanks!

There's a previous thread somewhere that discusses this. About half the pilots are commuters. Mostly from mainland cities like SEA that Hawaiian flies to. Not on the inter-island aircraft pairings much though.
