Jazz Yuri - Nagoya

I wanted to share a cool find that Jazz lovers will enjoy - and also high-lite a new feature of Google Maps.

First, Jazz Yuri is a coffee shop in Nagoya that has a collection of around 4000 Jazz RECORDS. Yes, the old fashioned vinyl records that don't require a laser to produce sound. The records are played through a "warm" tube amp that gives a rich full sound that I can't recall hearing from a CD.

Second, Google maps has a new feature called "My Maps" that allows you to put virtual push pins into their maps, AND create details about the point using text, photos, and video. This would be a GREAT way to build a collection of layover hot spots.

Here's an example: Jazz Yuri

Wow! Thanks for the info! I intend on going back to Japan within the next year or two and Nagoya is on my list of places to visit. Mom raised me on jazz; Wynton Marsales, Ray Charles, Miles Davis, etc etc. I'm always in search of a great jazz lounge.
