Shoes with nails/studs in heel- airport safe?

Subscribe
We know that shoes and boots with a steel shank in them will set off an airport metal detector. Lots of dress shoes like Allen Edmond, Johnson and Murphy, and Cole Haan use small nails or screws to secure the heel to the shoe. Will those set off the metal detector and require one to remove his shoes for scanning? Or is it just a metal shank that does that?

I got a great deal on Cole Haan Kennedy waterproof Chelsea boots, which have no steel shank but do use metal screws in the heel. Just trying to see if these will work as a uniform item that I can wear through security.

Thanks!

I wear Johnson and Murphy and have yet to set off any metal detectors...my Under Armor golf belt on the other hand sets them off every time.
