Key Lime Air

I was recently looking at Key Lime’s web page and it seems like they have good pay and benefits for their part 121 operations. Is there anyone here that knows anything about this in more detail? I’ve heard from a few other pilots that they had a terrible reputation a few years ago, but other than that, the info on them seems to be very scarce.

I know, I’m just kind of desperate for money right now (student loans, etc.) and their FO wages are very enticing.

I worked there from 2003 to 2006.

Yes the place has changed since but they should be the last option you choose.

Go to a Regional with signing and retention bonuses.

Also if you look at the pay...

It’s $30 X 16 hours per week guarantee

Thats $25000 a year. There are better places

Uhm, website says differently about pay:

Quote:
FO PAY:

Pay is $71.50 per hour, with a guarantee of 32 hours every two week pay period.
Total annual compensation is approximately $90,500:
Minimum guaranteed base pay is $59,500
$16,000.00 Retention bonus in the first year, paid at $8,000 every 6 months of employment.
Company-paid premium averaging $7,500 for employee health, dental, vision, and a $25,000 life insurance policy after 60 days.
Approximately $4,000 in per diem
401K Company paid matching averages $3,500 in compensation.

I stand corrected, I didn’t look at the website but only their APC profile

Either way, I have had two friends lose their lives over there and I personally would never recommend anyone to go there.

I’m sure some things have changed since I left in 2006 but you know the saying, “The more things change the more they stay the same”.

The guys that own/ run the company have entrenched a disturbing culture there. Until the brass at the top are changed, they will continue to be what they have always been.

But there is no chance of that happening; golden goose and all...

The clock is always ticking for their next fatality.

well, not sure what they're trying to sell but....

71.50 x 64 = $4576 per month

$4576 x 12 = $54,912 per year

That's a pretty far cry from what their website says....

So, they're assuming a ton of overtime worked, they are adding in their costs of benefits, and probably even adding in per diem (which is NOT pay, it's reimbursement for meals out on the road)

Real jobs don't try to make the compensation look better by trying to make you think of benefits (which they all provide) as pay. Hourly pay is what shows up in your paycheck. You can't feed yourself or your family with health insurance or other benefits, so it's cost to them to provide is not a relevant form of compensation. It's a benefit, not pay.
