UPS 757 in Penang Malaysia?

I was surprised to see a UPS 757 in such a far flung destination... the most I could find from flight aware was an occasional KUL turn. How does this plane make it all the way to SE Asia, and what kind of trip is that for the crew? Deadhead in I imagine?

75s are kept in theater for Europe and Asia hub operations.

That is either a "Z" or ONT crew. Usually part of a two week pairing the day stays in Shenzen and goes to kul and then penang for the layover, usually 30 hours but longer on the weekend. It's a very nice trip. You'll see our 75's in many places own there including Singapore and Clark.

Great info, thanks. Penang isn't a bad place for a long layover!

Back when I was an ONT 75/76 guy (as late as early 2017), we were flying the 767 on the SZX-KUL-PEN run. If you were lucky, you got the 80 hr layover in PEN. Good times.

The only place we flew the 757s in Asia was between SZX and CRK...and that was it. Everything else was the 767. Maybe loads have lightened up going to PEN, and they switched to the 75?
