Hooters is $50 with free transport.

Not the nicest place in town but if you smoke and like NASCAR it’s hard to beat.

Laquinta South is reasonable, quiet/clean.

Stayed at the Days Inn Wild West once on points cuz I was being cheap. Made Hooters look like a Four Seasons.

LQ south is quiet and very clean. It’s a newer LQ.

LQ North is cheap and has a Gordon Biersch across the street. Both have the southwest commuter rate and a really good cancellation policy.

Hooters is kind of gross imho but has good transport. Food options in the hotel are eh.

I don't commute but, almost without exception, every guy I fly with that does, says they stay at the LQ south. Can't vouch for it personally but I know A LOT of people use it for commuting.

FWIW...Hooters is now $60 a night out the door but basically guarantees a room. Had no problem getting rooms there during CES when virtually every other property was sold out.

LQ South is good. Used to not be much in the way of food options down that way, maybe that's changed, haven't commuted to Vegas for a couple years. LQ North was awful, once was all I could stay there.

If you're a Marriott guy the Fairfield Inn near the Hard Rock and just north of LQ North, used to have a SWA rate. Was a bit more than LQ but plenty of walkable food/entertainment options if you're going to be stuck there for a while. Airport trans too.

LaQuinta South is nicer than the north one because it's owned by a different company that specializes in resort areas. That also means it costs more and I think they raised their crew rate a couple of months ago so it's pushing close to $80 if I recall correctly. Still, it's clean and convenient and reasonably crew friendly.

There is a decent restaurant for home-cooked style food (during my last visit not one offering could be described as "woke" or any other descriptor that might lend itself to modern or hip culinary efforts) called the village pub just down the street, and a pizza place also nearby. A longer walk down to Eastern and then south a couple blocks gets you to a Robertos taco shop and a couple other smallish restaurants. A gas station nearby should be able to meet any adult beverage requirements that you can't get from the village pub.

I was never mugged there but I didn't walk around after dark and wouldn't recommend that when alone.

Only problem with the strip is transpo. Cabs and Ubers get spensive. Hooters is contract transportation that will pick up and drop off on demand with little to no wait. LQ South van means you have to wait in zero level purgatory anywhere from 5-65 minutes. Pick your poison. I stayed at LQ south when I was there unless I couldn’t get a room because it was quiet, clean, had breakfast, and they were used to airline crews and our quirks. North is sketchy but near a lot of good food and Ellis Island, which has everything an enterprising airline pilot could ask for.
