Thanks so much for the advice!
1. Quickest time to a line in DC
You will be able to hold IAD out of training. Reserve is a moving target, but anywhere from 1-3 months can be expected. As the summer flying picks up, the time on reserve will drop.
2. Maximizing flight time
You will be able to fly as much as you like up to 95 hours a month. On reserve it will be hard to hit that number unless you are willing to give up your days off. Once you get a line, it is very easy to pick up to 95 hours.
3. Pay/work rules.
We don't have the best rules, but will be negotiating a new contract this year so hopefully this will improve.
4. Upgrade
You will be able to upgrade once you meet the 121 hour requirements.
5. Local training
All the ground school is done at IAD.
If you specific question you can send me a PM. CommutAir is not perfect, but no regional is.
