TL;DR B6 mgmt doesn't know the details, and/or doesn't want a UAL merger
This is a situation where JB management could really suffer the consequences of treating their labor so poorly for years.Originally Posted by Flyby1206
Just spitballing, but think about the US/AA merger and how Doug Parker sought out the AA pilot group for support to get them onboard and make the merger happen. AA mgmt didn't want it, but labor did. The same thing could be playing out with UAL/B6. Dont forget, the UAL ALPA MEC Chairman, Todd Insler, also has a seat on the UAL Board of Directors. He could be acting on behalf of the UAL Board in a situation like this...TL;DR B6 mgmt doesn't know the details, and/or doesn't want a UAL merger
