Quote: SERIOUSLY? I knew they paid less than Kalitta but I thought they had a lot more work rules that closed the gap......
The work rules on first year pay are terrible because the Training pay is $1600 a month and the guarantee is 50 starting month 5 when you get off of Training pay.

Will Atlas survive?

Probably, but BF and JD are playing with fire, and the charred body that will be left will be ugly. I think they have played their hand too far, but they don't care because they will not be held personally liable. They will exit with millions and not lose a moments sleep.

I am amazed by how naive many of our new hires are. They simply have not done their due diligence prior to making the decision to come here. Atlas plays on that very well. We get a lot of military guys who simply don't understand corporate America and the RLA.

We will not be able to grow this airline without a reasonable contract. We are all gambling in a high stakes game, my self included, that could pay out, but the downside risk is high.

The natives are getting restless and trash talking the union is now becoming all the rage. Read Confessions of a Union Buster or search for that on YT. The ride is going to get rough. Buckle up!

For the info—never considered applying, and never will.

Yes, 384 hours of rig time will get you 7300 a month so about $87,700. We'll say one week of vacation falls on a trip (min guarantee for that month) and the other is on days off so you get a bit extra. Same with your 6 training days a year. If three of them are during a trip the rig drops to match guarantee that month. Three days of training on days off will get you about 10.5 extra hours. All this goes out the window if you call in sick as the rig pay stops while we are out sick. Atlas's sick pay only brings you up to min guarantee and only if you're out less than a month and a half. After that guarantee drops to 31.5 hours a month.

Quote: I'm guessing about $90k year two. and an additional $4.5k every year after until you upgrade. Just a guess though...
As a 2nd year 747 FO at Atlas, I made 69,979.86
The only way to do better than that is sell your vacation back and work on off days.

If anyone doesn't believe that, I'd be happy to send you a December 31st pay stub.

First year at Kalitta 747 FO was 136k, 2nd year was 168k gross. That was with some OT, not much. We had FO's do high 200's with lots of OT.
Will be interesting to see how this year will shape out with much higher staffing levels, but I don't think any work rules at Atlas will cut the gap.

well for more perspective.....that puts a first year Kalitta FO making more than a 7 year Atlas 767 CA.

My 2018 W2 for Atlas 747 FO said $49,000. That was 3 months on new hire training pay and 9 months on regular first year pay. I haven’t made that little flying airplanes since 2005.
