Two totally different jobs, with very subjective answers. Where do you live, JetBlue base or Atlas Base? How much do you want to fly every day? Are pay and retirement your priorities, ease of commute, or minimal days away? Can you be gone from home 12 to 17 days at a time? Cay you wait 2 years for that 16% DC? Do you want to travel the world? Do you want your commute paid for.
First off, the APC pay rates are 6% low as we have gotten 2x September 1st pay increases, with two more 3% raises to go.
767 FO rates now are $97, 130, 162, 166, 170, 174...
CA Rates from year 5 are $250, 256, 263, 269, 276.
Make pay comparisons based off of only 64 Hours Minimum Guarantee.
767 now offers a large variety of lines. Lots of split lines, lots of layovers in base. Easy to swap bases (at the moment) for destination variety.
We fly 1 or 2 leg days on the Amazon Side. Super easy trips, short days, fully catered, good hotels and great crews. Reserve still credits the most at close to 78 hours (paid hotel and perdiem at reserve location). Primary lines are built really close to 64 hours, but that is because of the split lines and prorated CRT on day 1 and day last. Pax flying out of JFK is available, but you are bidding for days on Secondary Lines, not destinations, and you'll most likely be at Minimum Guarantee; upside is a lot of extra days off at home.
Or, do you want to commute to JFK, BOS MCO etc on your own dime, pay for your own crash pads or hotels in base, fly 3 or 4 leg days through the busiest airports and airspace in the country? Do you want to deal with TSA, crowded terminals, clueless passengers, and cabin drama?
All for similar pay, or, I don't know, maybe less on the 190 or 220?
I am very pleased on the Atlas 767. More money is always welcome, but I have no intention of leaving or changing fleets. If I lived in a United or Alaska Base, maybe. But this is a great job.
