Looking for any current/new information about Grant Alaska.

I am a 1300 hour pilot with very limited MEL and turbine time. I am having a heck of a time trying to find work outside my part time gig due to having too high and also too low hours. (too high because they think I will bail and go 121 and too low to be PIC) Just looking for a chance to get some time and make some money.

Do you meet part 135 PIC minimums? Boutique air may hire you. You’ll sign a 1 year contract. $71.43/hr. Lots of bases. You’ll fly a PC-12

I think I am like two weeks of flying short of night and instrument time. I could easily wrap that up if we get some decent weather here... but I would like to stay in Alaska if possible. I have applied at Ravn several times and gone to recruiting events but that appears to be a dead end. I also applied at Bering but they aren't hiring right now... I figured I would see what I could find for Grant.

I think generally speaking this is the slow season for those companies and hiring will ramp back up in the spring time. Keep trying. Good luck.

Might want to try aerial survey....although most leaf off operators already have hired for the season (October-May).

135 might be an option...AMF, Alpine, Freight Runners.....Bemidji(?).

With 1300 you shouldn’t have a problem getting into a 207 with either company, they must feel you will get along with the crew though. Spending that much time with others can be hard, you have to get along. If you think you are going to jump right into a Caravan......good luck in that, I know guys that hired on with almost 2500 and still started in the 207, there are a few that start out in the Caravan but they had tons of actual IFR time and previous 135 PIC time.

Good luck on your search, it’s a ball to fly out west.

I don't think I said anything about jumping right into the Caravan. I'd prefer to get some sled time first since I am already getting IFR time on the side with a company I am part timing for. Interesting you say that though. Just out of curiosity do you work for Ravn? I think I can get into the Caravan faster at Grant than I could at Ravn.

Wait until after the first of the year and then flood the area with your resume. The hiring will pick up around March.
