What are the seasonal bases? How do they work... do they just open for bidding, or do they tdy people there? If you bid for it, do they typically go junior or senior?

MYR is a good example of a seasonal base, that isn’t a permanent base. Other permanent bases, such as VPS get a lot more flying certain times of the year than others.

The idea is that VBD pilots cover these bases first, but usually that isn’t enough coverage, so some TDY’s happen out of other permanent bases on a month by month basis. Some guys like the TDY that are more senior and volunteer, but generally some of the junior guys get stuck with it (involuntary). Once your in that base for the month, whether VBD or TDY, you bid in that base with your seniority for your monthly schedule.

2 year agreement? As in, if you bid there, you have to be there for 2 years? No.

I think you’re talking about fleet lock, but since we are a single airframe now it no longer applies. You can change bases during every vacancy bud if you wanted
