Good job, the unfortunate truth is there is a lot to know about our company procedures and our PSIs don't know what they need to.

I got into an argument with one during upgrade training because the weather called for anti ice numbers and he tried to convince me that it was an insignificant amount of ice that would build up from the bases until when the system would no longer inhibit itself.

I've got about 5-6 more stories about the guy.

Really read the manuals, be ready to say I don't know, and make friends with line pilots who you can ask if you don't know the answer. The worst thing you could do is teach a new hire the wrong thing.

If you are a retiree, it's a good job. You are not required to be more knowledgeable than half of your students.

If you are building your resume to one day start flying for the airlines, you might want to just start building time by flying for Norwegian.

Not sure all the ins and outs, but quite a few instructors seem to be without medicals so this may be a good option to stay in aviation.
