What are the chances of getting hired and being based in PHX?
How long should you expect reserve?

Looks like the most junior pilot in PHX was hired 8/23/2019. Pretty sure CRJ upgrades are still less than two years, but it would be longer if you only wanted to upgrade into PHX. Most junior CA in PHX was hired 12/28/2015. Reserve is going to depend on base.

You can look at a bunch of this stuff on the SkyWest website:

I'd say probably like a year on reserve, 10-12 months...

As an FO in PHX, we have no idea where that August 2019 hire is coming from. My good friend was in the last batch to get admitted (end of January, got awarded for March ). They are a June 2019 new hire and so is the bottom guy. I was April 2019, IOE in June, and based in PHX starting Jan 2020. It's around 9 months now, including the training footprint. Amazing, considering this was an 18+ month wait not too long ago.

Captains seem to be able to get in here around the 5 year mark. One of the March awards was a PHX FO upgrading to PHX CA, he's about 4.5 years. I know another captain that's here now and they're also approaching 5 years.

I got a line my first month here, knocked down to reserve this month, hoping for at least a composite in March. I'm fortunate to be toward the top of reserve/riding the bottom of target lineholders each month, but even the people below me should be able to get off reserve in a few months. There were 6 FOs that got awarded upgrades for March, a few senior FOs that got transferred in to PHX, so there should have been a net movement up the list for everyone. However almost all those upgrades show they're still bidding in PHX, so I'm guessing they got bypassed. Looking at the RSR, we can see that the base has grown and they've been letting a lot of people in lately, and I expect this to continue as upgrades continue.

The August FO was a on military leave for a few years and came back in that class, so they honored his seniority.

He came to class in August? Did he leave again? Because he's been on the base seniority and pbs seniority lists, but even for March still says not bidding. That's seven months now. Anyway, the point I was getting at is as far as actually getting awarded, it's been pretty consistent around 9 months now, and should stay that way or possibly go a little lower. A half dozen upgrades were awarded to PHX FOs at the end of January, and it looks like they're finally off to training in March, hopefully moving everyone a few spots.
