Quote: Sounds like a crazy business plan to me, go into a city and then blame the city because your airplanes aren't filling up. Heres a few ironic examples for you.

Big Sky can't survive in:

Spokane... but Horizon, Southwest, Alaska, Skywest, United, and NWA can.

Kalispell... but Horizon, NWA, and Skywest can.

Great Falls... but Horizon, NWA, Skywest, and Allegiant can.

Seems like an airline issue to me, not a city issue.
big sky was mainly serving the interstate market and there's not enough people living in this state to fill up even a 19-seat a/c. people there are used to driving. go ask anyone if it's a big deal driving from kalispell and down to bozeman or billings. all the airlines you mentioned have a bigger route structure to connect their pax on except for allegiant doing non-stop service to las vegas for people vacationing. go educate yourself before you spew out more stuff that you have no clue about. go post your inaccuracies on wikipedia.com you fool. anyone can post their bs there. and if you wonder i have been doing my homework, even if i am a new-hire. did you do your homework?

That's an incredibly weak and unfair statement to make. Big Sky is a small, relatively unknown regional. It isn't fair to compare them to a place like Southwest or United that are mainline carriers with much more dough and resources to work with. Big Sky tried out these markets and it didn't work out it happens. I think it's amazing that a little tiny regional with a couple metros flying routes around Montana has made it even this far in the game.

They made it this far in the game because they went through bankruptcy, cut costs, and then let Mesaba fund the majority of their operation thanks to MAIR and it's questionable financial dealings. Big Sky is a piece of crap and I can't tell you how much better life gets after you leave. Oh, and the "piece of crap" comment is just my opinion. I had a dozen pilots tell me to leave that place as soon as I could. So I did. Thanks guys.

Looks like your un-happines follows you. Is it you or everyone else? The guys out here in BOS said you're likeable but a spoiled kid born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Some of us weren't and apreciate what we have. Enjoy SKW!

Medical Insurance?
Just curious about the medical insurance at Big Sky. What type and how much per month for a family plan. Also, what are the average credit hours per month for crews out of BOS, and is there any reserve in BOS at this point?

QTip,

You sir are an idiot. I have worked for everything that I've ever gotten jacka$$. When I went back to school to become a pilot I was married and had two kids. I busted my butt for 4 years, worked 1 full-time job and 1 part-time job, all while going to school full-time and flying. All while trying to be a descent husband and father. See any silver spoon yet idiot? You can be sure I appreciate everything I have because I earned it and paid for it, no one else. I was born and raised in Montana. My father was a cop and my mom stayed home when I was a kid. I never came from money and I still don't have any money. Be very careful about who you call out here and what rumors you spread, especially considering you've never met me.

If you could read you would see that my happiness (check your spelling) was restored as soon as I left. I took none of it with me. I only try to impart my experiences to the uninitiated. I left Big Sky for the sake of my relationship with my wife and kids. I was getting home 6-7 days a month with my commute. My phone number is XXX-XXX-XXXX (check your messages). Feel free to give me a call if you have the stones. I'd love to chat. Feel free to share my number with the cowards in BOS who think that I'm "spoiled." I'd love you chat with them as well. Funny, I doubt I'll hear from any of you.

Big Sky insurance
Charter - was told at the job fair that the insurance is Blue cross - Blue shield, not cheap - something like 500$ a month for families. PM me if you want to know more details of the experience.

Wow did this just turn into a Flightinfo.com thread? Dudes take a pill.

Just a personal opinion here but I hear that Stig is doing the interviews just over the phone. If I was a CP I would diffenently want to atleast talk face to face with the applicant. Don't get me wrong I think that Stig is s good guy but I might handle interviews slightly different.
