This happens every decade. Now a new generation has to learn the hard lessons. When the majors start to hire again, it will be college degree and 1000 PIC pilots first. The guys and gals that decided to bail to places like you know where are in the back of the line and their old regional friends will jump over them. Hey get your degree and 1000 PIC. learn from these mistakes, there are no shortcuts (that work).

FWIW, Walmart truck drivers earn more than most RJ drivers do.

Actually they don't. My best buds are career UPS drivers, they earned more than I for a few years as a regional FO in the early 2000's but they topped out at junior/middle RJ CA pay. UPS pays top dollar for drivers (strong union).
