Full disclosure I’m a united guy.

My reserve squadron is mostly American pilots, and I’ve heard a rumor from one of them that United was going to have a massive displacement prior to the Covid19 pandemic. Was that just one dude’s rumor, or has that been heard here also?

The rumor was that United was going to displace prior to Covid 19? I was just wondering how an American pilot heard this rumor, and no one at United had heard it.

I never heard that, and I talk to most of the hotel van drivers out there.

why would they?? United had just closed a very large CA and WB bid. The only thing I think they could be thinking was that we had staffed for the MAX this summer and it became clear prior to corona that they weren’t going to be back until fall. The hiring had already started to slow and 737 training was pulling back. There were rumors of cancelled CA bids on the 737 but certainly not a displacement.

thats the only thing I think they could have been repeating.

I didn’t believe the rumor, I just wondered where he came up with it.

United had a large vacancy award not too long ago, which really hurt them with training cycles.

if we’re speaking in person this wouldn’t sound confrontational, but what does this have to do with the displacement rumor that I originally posted?

I’m sure all you AA guys want me off your section of the forum.

As Hillary told us all after our ambassador (and others) were executed: “At this point.... what difference does it make?”
