Since it’s apparent COVID is going to affect career earnings for next several years, will this push the case for raising the retirement age beyond age 65?

Potentially, you are going to have Captain’s going the right seat for a year or longer, and many on the street for the next year or so. The lost earnings “could” be regained by allowing future pilots to say a few more years at the top end of the pay scale.

how about we reduce the age to 60, this would help at risk pilots limit their exposure...

can't see a good argument for moving the age past 65. the last several years have proven to be fairly lucrative for airline pilots. I don't think a pandemic that seems to disproportionally affect people over 65 is a good reason to keep people in that age range working.

Pilots at the top are losing big money right now and the markets are down. It’s going to be difficult to retire in this environment.

Maybe let Age 60+ guys take a leave and come back when a vaccine is available. They could fly till 68-70.

Are we seriously talking about this? Bottom guys about to get crushed and before the body is even cold you are trying to improve your situation. Classy.

There isn't an option for drop it back down to 60, so I just voted keep it at 65.

What? Standard investment allocation should have those with less than 5 years until retirement about 10% in equities. Besides, the S&P and Nasdaq are just about even for the year. If they can’t retire in the next 5, they won’t be able to at all.

Let me guess........ You’re 64, a couple of divorces, and you’ve spent money on toys that should have been put into retirement savings.

OMG. This? Now?

If we worship at the altar of “science”, every man over 60 would be done, every obese and/or high blood pressure (treated) over 50 would be finished.

Until the vaccine everyone assured me is totally going happen.

This an awful can of worms to open. (Unless you’re young....hmmmm)
