Asking for non SM buddy....Mid 90’s hire, current mid percentage in DTWa on 320, 47XX seniority. He’s assuming he won’t be able to hold 737,320a anywhere except maybe NYC..... In NYC if one is on reserve, before the bug..... how many short calls were NB pilots getting on reserve?

Junior NB captains in summer 2019 were doing all of them. Used every day on reserve. On the other hand, rolling thunder was barely a risk; double up or better every summer month.

I’d be shocked if he couldn’t hold either of those in DTW. 4700 would be approx 38% of the Active list if we kept 12100 like BS suggested. Not including the (I’m guessing) 800 or so pilots senior to him currently sitting in FO seats And unlikely to bid CAPT unless forced to due to category closure/displacement.

I think it will be closer than some think, but I have the unsavory world of the 737 cockpit helping I think. Not too many 7er guys wanna take a pay cut and fly in those tight spaces. Who knows...

Since spring 2018 and until this hit the only time I didn’t get all 6 short calls was because I flew every other day. I don’t think that will be the case going forward, but recent history we all worked a lot.
