I think we are confusing a loan vs the COVID legislation that allows you to withdrawal (not a loan) 401/IRA money. Google it and talk with an accountant.

I took advantage of as many of the provisions of the Cares Act as I could. I did a 12 month forbearance with my mortgage. At the end of the forbearance they will modify my loan and tack the balance on the end of the loan. If you decide to do this just make sure you communicate with your mortgage lender about the loan modification. I’ve heard stories of lenders wanting the balance paid in full after the forbearance. I also made a withdrawal from my 401k to pay off some debt and pad my savings. Due to the Cares Act you can make a withdrawal with no penalty. You just have to pay the taxes over a 3 year period. Or you can repay it within 3 years and pay no taxes. Fortunately I am one of the UNAs being reinstated, but these moves gave me a little breathing room and removed a lot of stress.

Plus 1. The CARES act provided a withdrawal option. IRS.gov has good information. You withdraw with no penalty and pay taxes as if it was income. You can spread the tax hit out over three years or pay it more upfront.

I’m going to research the mortgage rules, that could make a huge difference as well.

Hey guys/gals...I am trying to figure out when the delta money will stop. I am not totally clear on the arrears pay as it’s different than my last shop.

In October, will I just receive half of my furlough guarantee on the 15th plus unpaid vacation, then the other half of my furlough guarantee on the last day of October?

Since I am UNA I don’t have any per diem and I won’t be breaking the 72 hour guarantee.

Remember that your October 1 paycheck is for approximately half of the hours you work in the previous month (September), then the October 15 paycheck settles up the final actual hours worked in September. So if Delta does a month of October furlough pay on the regular schedule, you'd get those on November 1 and November 15.

This question was answered by HR in the furlough connection part of sky net.

Oct furlough pay on Oct 15 and 31st (32.5 hours, plus settling Sep in the Oct 15th check)
Nov furlough pay (for 2 year+ folks) on Nov 15 and 30th, 32.5 hours each

I don’t believe they’ve said yet which date they’ll distribute vacation pay and bank pay.

They said Vacation and bank would be paid on 30 Oct, but would be a separate paycheck, not included with the regular paycheck you receive on that same day.
