Not a vaccine, but there is now a peer-reviewed study regarding the effectiveness of Ivermectin, a drug used to treat lice and scabies, which apparently reduced mortality by 75%.

I’ve heard that before, usually from the tinfoil hat crowd, who also told me that this was just the flu, or that it would disappear on November 3rd. Ivermectin is the main ingredient in my dog’s Heartworm medicine. That said, I don’t want to dismiss it. I hope that this is true, and one beef flavored chewy will help people recover. It’ll be interesting to watch.

I know a few that had great results with the above.

Merck may be having better luck with therapeutics than they did with vaccines...

More info on the Merck drug (molnupiravir). Sounds like it might be a game-changer, basically take a pill for five days. Stopped the bug dead in early trials, they obviously will need larger trials before getting too excited over this.

Suggested as a means to deal with small outbreaks once the large-scale pandemic spread is over.

Plasma transfusions innefective as a therapeutic. It was used on an emergency/experimental basis until they could conduct formal trials, which didn't pan out...

Eli-Lily antibody combo therapy reported 87% effective at preventing hospitalization/death in at risk patients in phase-3 trials. The only deaths were in the control group.

Also assessed that this efficacy applies to covid variants.
