Should be a quick kill.

If you endorse an applicant how long does it take until a pilot can endorse somebody else’s app?

I’m seeing 1 every 2 years but when does that 2 years begin? Thanks

The endorsed pilot must successfully complete probation.

Thanks end thread

The pilot you endorsed gets a PE to give after he/she is off probation, but you don’t get yours back until a year after your sponsored pilot is off probation. Idea being, you continue to mentor while they are new. It’s about a 2.5 year commitment if you give someone your PE.

Well. While you’re information may be valuable. PilotGuy said end thread. And he’s the boss around here.

In my case it took just shy of 2 years for my PE to get an invite recently. So all said and done it would be about 4 years total until I can give another endorsement?

I guess that’s much better than once ever or every 10 years.

How do you know if you are eligible to give an endorsement? I gave one under the old old system in early 2017. The candidate went to Delta and did not test or interview. I thought there was a ten year ban. Am I eligible to endorse?

20/20 glasses are out of focus.

Yes all endorsement clocks reset when the new system went into effect

Over the years, the nature and importance of the endorsement have changed several times. Since going to the one year after probation reset, I thought that the endorsement-- while not required to receive an interview-- retained serious weight when determining whether or not an applicant receives an interview.

However, a buddy recently told me that this is no longer the case (i.e., that the endorsement matters very little or is being dropped far below other weighted considerations). With respect to pilot hiring, I'd always heard that a decent amount of friction exists between flight ops and HR; and my buddy told me that the recent devaluing of the endorsement was a direct result of HR taking issue with the ethnic composition of recent new hires.

Regarding the endorsement not having the punch it once had, any idea if this is true? Is this what precipitated the change from 10 years to 1 year after probation? Or (if true) did this occur after the move to the 1 year waiting period.
