the 'death rate' crowd completely ignore the fact that we're seeing long-term side effects for all ages. once you test negative, that doesn't flip a magical switch and you instantly go back to being 100%. HS, college and pro athletes who've gotten sick months ago continue to experience headaches and brain fog, and can't clock mile times anywhere near their pre-covid PRs, etc.

i have zero fear that i'll die from the disease (although, pre-vaccination, i did actually consider the fact that i could kill an older or sicker friend/relative) - the lingering health issues are what give me pause.

but i digress. anyway, fatigue call seems wholly reasonable in OP's case.

Which athletes are you referring to? Most people I know who got it seem to have recorvered okay.

Don’t confuse us with the facts.

And yet nothing we’re doing is going to prevent anyone from getting exposed to it.

I had it, I had some long term symptoms I couldn't shake. You know what I did? Overhauled my diet, quit drinking (which after 2020 was needed regardless), ramped up my gym time in a big way, started lifting heavy again and butt f’d it into submission.

Also don't discount the fact that even elite athletes have undiagnosed health issues which Covid seems to be particularly good at pointing out. Anyone with lasting covid symptoms needs a thorough health screening to include an angiogram and asthma screening. Early atherosclerosis was present in 45% of KIA in Vietnam and we were a thinner nation then.

Quote: Sure have. Treating flight crews as lepers certainly doesn't seem reasonable. Would love to hear all your other historical accounts of where there has been a reaction like this to something with nearly a 99% survival rate and a median age of death in the 70s?
so even if this is some kind of overblown hoax… Our reaction to it is stupider than
- the idea that you are allowed to own another human being as though they are a farm animal
- The idea that countries would keep sending waves of young men at machine guns that they had no hope of overcoming… Just to see which side may relent first
- that’s a way to end racism is to be hyper focused on everyone’s race, and let that determine every single interaction you have with them
- That smoking cigarettes poses no long-term health effects

Seems pretty snowflakey to think that you have something to complain about, what with living in the “stupidest of all times.”
