Atlas HR will literally be the LAST department to know when a contract is signed. NEVER ever believe what they have to say on the matter of negotiations. They're like used car salesmen in this situation.

Just one little thing regarding the guy that left Frontier 9 years ago:

9 years ago Frontier was operating under a 15 year old bankruptcy contract. Today's contract is so much better its absolutely no comparison.

I have never heard of anyone going from Frontier to ACMI other than this one guy I guess. What he fails to mention he left frontier on a bankruptcy contract. I had several acmi guys in my new hire class a few years ago.

Well let’s see. End of contract example year 12 same guy.

Atlas 747 Capt. 234 / hr.
Frontier A320 Capt. 270 / hr first 82 hours. 337 /hr after.

Atlas pilot 62 hour guarantee.
Frontier pilot 75 hour guarantee.

Atlas pilot 50% match to to 10%
Frontier Pilot 15% DC of gross pay regardless what she or he puts in.

16 vacation days for me the whole month of for 80hr credit. Not to mention depending obviously on staffing the options to easily change your schedule into what you like and not work your award.

For me it wouldn’t even be a serious question. Now this being said you don’t know what the new contract will
look over there. All the awesome guys and girls more than deserve a fair contract over there and hopefully will get it soon. In which case it would be a more interesting comparison.

to me the much easier flying very good work rules and money it’s a no brainer for now. That said always follow your gut and hope it works out.

Hogcapt were you furloughed or did you leave while you were an active pilot. Few guys never came back (i don't blame them future was not too bright at that time).

Frontier hands down for all the reasons everyone stated.

Also think about the type of flying Atlas does and how hard on your body that can be. I have a few Facebook friends from my old regional that have now been at Atlas for a few years….I hardly recognize some of them now looking at their pictures. I’m pretty Frontier has redeyes, but I’m sure once you gain some seniority those can be avoided. Just another thing to think about…you only have one life.

Frontier is the no brainer, before the pandemic Atlas couldn’t get a single legit candidate in their seats. Management, contract, and morale were awful. Even if Atlas gets the contract that is on par with Kalitta, I would not trust that Amazon would stick with them as a contract carrier and wouldn’t invest in another airline once the margins are not as favorable.

For what its worth and I have no skin in this game......go fly the B744 for a bit and see the world in a heavy. You will ALWAYS be able to leave after a year or two if you want and you will NEVER regret having done it. If you go to Frontier first you may upgrade in a few years but you will always wonder. I flew long haul before my current airline and wouldn't have changed it at all even knowing it cost me some seniority. Enjoy the journey. Best of luck.

Seniority is everything. Frontier is growing. I can watch 747 videos on YouTube to scratch that itch, but that’s just my opinion.

to be honest who cares about 747s. do what is best for your family (current or planned) and your long term situation (401k, health, upgrade time, etc)
