You can still catch a free full ppl course on YouTube. They have live virtual classes streamed Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Checkride prep holds it. The first "class" was Monday but you can still watch and review what was covered and jump in on each one going forward.

I used King for my commercial and instrument rating in helicopters and I aced my commercial. I think I got a 95% on the instrument. The jokes are cheesy but it works.

I really liked Gold Seal: https://groundschool.com/
Their videos aren't just talking heads but they are interactive.

But I have not tried anything else.

Before you pay for anything all handbooks are available for free download from the FAA website:
https://www.faa.gov/regulations_poli...nuals/aviation
Several websites where you can take free practice tests:
https://www.4tests.com/private-pilot-exam
Then there’s 1000’s of aviation videos on YouTube if you need some help visualizing:

I used King Schools. The humor is goofy which made it a little less dry BUT after finishing it up and taking my written, I think I would have liked something a little more technical as I felt the "meat" was a little lacking with Kings. I was still wanting more knowledge on the covered topics than what they gave.

I read this is one of the highlights compared to others like Kings or Sportys, as those will push through the materials within 20 hours. Is Gold Seal's course for lifetime access?
