Very strong letter from the MEC reps today. Glad to see the leadership. This is a good trend!

Also glad to see the letter. The only way this is going to get fixed is for pilots to refuse layovers in the gongshow. Management has already displayed their lack of integrity. Maybe they should pay more attention to the LMS courses they require us to watch.

Me and you agree for once. Things are turning a corner I guess. I also will give kudos to the MEC.

Now how many pilots will even read it? Thats the sad part. Things can be so good at an airline for so many years that it creates a culture of apathy. It creates a culture of I'm going to get mine and someone else can do the union volunteer work. It creates the subcontractor mentality many have in our ranks. Its sad actually.

I focused on the good thing the REPS did. Notice who did not sign? Why?

About how many will read this letter, well it is more than before because I am showing it to as many pilots as possible.

About our apathy, There is so many reasons to be apathetic. But it's a choice.

Saying we have it good when others are going through bankruptcy and furloughs might be considered disingenuous. Either way, we have the choice to participate or not. Stand and be counted or remain on the sidelines.

Compare our contracts from 1999, 2006, 2011, 2015 and where we are headed. The trend is going in the wrong direction. Worse off, your MEC and the NC knows it and refuses to make the comparison publicly.

But at least there was an awakening.

Always have to throw your jab in for a certain demographic of pilots.

Did you ask why one didn’t sign? What answer were you given?

I understand their council is aware of the reason. That rep has a challenge and could use a few good thoughts and prayers.

It appears you jumped to a conclusion and now you are having to walk it back? You posted the fact that a rep had not signed and posed it as a question, but tried to raise doubt on why he didn’t. Shameful! You tried to spread decent on why one rep didn’t sign. Then you realized you didn’t have the whole story. Now your foot is in your mouth.

I phoned a friend and found out about the LA rep. He needs our prayers. Yet what many do on this forum and JetFlyers is throw shad on all these volunteers. Shameful coming from a bunch of internet hero's who do nothing. Another perfect example of why we owe all the volunteers a big Thank You. Life is short.
