Working at JB
Good morning,
I received an invite to JB today and would like some formal insight as to the culture and working conditions at JB.
I'm curious to the flexibility of scheduling, dropping, trading, mandated min line values, and current upgrade times. I hear there has been a lot of discussion about a JB/AA merger? How would that benefit/hurt a new hire?
From my 18 years in the industry, JB has seemed Great "niche" Company but from what I've understood, very slow movement for career progression. Any advice on leaving a stable and profitable regional for JB? Also any insight on growth or other considerations would be helpful. I Appreciate the time.

Like any other major airline job, life is very good once you have a some seniority. Unlike other major airline jobs, that seniority will not happen quickly. It’s a young pilot group and attrition won’t be much more than a trickle for several more years.
That said, in my opinion it far and away beats any regional airline gig. Because, it’s a major airline. With all the commensurate pay, benefits and lifestyle perks.

APC Profile for JB indicates a 2014-2015 junior upgrade however I read in a previous thread, upgrade was 14-16 years?
