Any info on hiring stats with no PIC? Widebody worldwide hours and flying the 320 at a LCC.
Just wanna know what to kinda expect after putting the app in...
Thanks in advance!

If American doesn’t bite, apply to United and Delta. They’ll both hire without TPIC.

I believe they want to hire Captains only. No specific time required. I know of a guy hired with 200hrs pic, another one with 600 and another with 800.

I would still apply. You never know!

Too soon to have any meaningful data for the wave that has not really begun. All you can do is go to job fairs and update your app regularly

I know of a few with big fat zero pic

Are they like friends/family of big potattoes on the flight ops Department, or just regular peasants like me?
thanks for the info

Hiring here is going to be a moving target and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a guy with a resume like yours get hired. Focus on the stuff you can control, like volunteering, and I’d say you’ve got as good of a shot as the guys getting hired with a couple hundred pic

Dont think its mandatory with all other credentials. Looking on linkdin, you could find a lot of folks getting hired on at AA with no PIC time with time at the airlines less than 3 years total.

Most have other "chips", though. Usually several (very good) letters of rec and relationships with the right people that help them get hired. Without an "in", it will be hard to get hired with zero PIC time for the next 6 months or so. After that, it's anyones guess.

Just remember, there are hundreds of guys with college degrees, clean records, 2000+ hours of PIC time, a Check Airman letter, and more all sitting at the regionals waiting to be hired. Many with 10+ letters of recommendation. If you have no PIC time, you need to have something else that makes you more attractive than them to the hiring team.

Sorry, I should have been a bit more clear. Yes most of those people have showed other leadership experience by volunteers with the company as recruiters or working in many facets of the training department as well as outside volunteer and leadership experiences. Plus a number of internal reccs im sure.
