You might research “outsourcing”; it doesn’t mean what you think it does.

Other then the first sentence and a half this was a good post. You are correct that Trump was doing Boeing executive's bidding. It is a perfect example of why the U.S. needs government leaders with integrity and not the Trump/ George W hog wash.

The C series program had already been delayed quite a while with cost over runs and when it was on life support the Trump administration stepped in and tried to kill it because of Boeing. Instead of killing the production of the plane, Boeing via its shady executives managed to drive the project into the hands of its closest competitor.

I'm Canadian btw. To me, this is a perfect example of when a population gets swindled and elects a leader who "thinks small," instead of "thinking big," and seeing the big picture. It is being able to see 5 steps down the road and not being an impulsive idiot who is swayed daily about important policy decisions.

Youre putting magic powers in Trump that aren’t there. He is a buffoon, an idiot with the attention span of a flea, but because of that he didn’t have time or knowledge to mind trick Boeing into sending BBD to Airbus. It was in the works, internally at BBD, for some time, but Airbus was t interested until given it because BBD was bankrupt. The C-Series was never going to make the plane on its own—it didn’t sell because BBD was the builder.

Not to mention every bad decision that brought BBD Commercial Aircraft low was not made on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, but rather 800 Blvd, Rene Levesque or 400 Cote Vertu.

Paul Tellier told the family not to challenge Boeing, but they showed him the door. Designed a great plane but developed a horrible support reputation, combined with the financials, drove away buyers. Then, there’s the LR 85 dumpster fire burning $1.5 billion, eliminating a chance at building the needed CL605 replacement. The revolving door in most critical offices.

Canadair built a great reputation with the 601, esp for support. BBD burned that away. They delivered more business Jets during the years of commercial airliners were produced.
