Will I make it to a Major

Subscribe
All,

A friend of mine is applying to several top tier majors and is looking for advice. He currently has less than a 3.0 GPA from a 4 year institution, a single letter of disciple 2 years ago at a 135 operation, and a MV failure 2 years ago on initial at a regional. Does he still have a shot at Delta/United/FedEx/Etc? Currently has almost 500 TPIC and Training Captain at a 135 operator. If you have any advice, I’ll PM and forward it would be very appreciated. First generation pilot, looking to make a career. Thank you.

My gpa was 2.0. Failed my CFII and a prof check at a regional. Work for delta. So, anything’s possible.

Hi guys, what about a greencard holder just moving to US? ( got recently FAA ATP +a320 type , +4200 TT, +2100 PIC ATR 72-600, College+Master Degree ) no 121 time at all.
Is there any chance for a legacy or major? TIA

Greencard holder is not a factor, as long as you have right to work in the USA you are equal in that regard to all other candidates. I'm guessing your ATR time is "121 equivalent" which will help. I would be applying and updating frequently if I were you because you seem competitive. Where are you working now?

Most of us can find a black mark in our past, could be a poor grade, check failure, an extra traffic ticket, whatever. The mitigation process is to minimize those with more good, and time.

That means, keep the trend upwards, keep the negatives dated in earlier years. If asked, have an explanation for the event. Become the overachiever. It’s hard to say odds of yes or no down the road, everyone’s different.

Once the basics are in place, some ‘faith’ helps.

Green card will not hold you back in any way and in fact they may be more likely to hire you since green card is a protected class and they do not want to be accused of violating the law by discriminating.

Hi, I used to work for AV. Even if I have PIC time is under ICAO, not 121 time, however it complies with FAA requirements for ATP which I got a couple of months ago.
Thanks for your advice.
