PBS for bidding AIMS for after it’s published.

PBS takes some getting used to but once you figure out the tricks it’s not bad. AIMS is nice.

NavBlue PBS for bidding. I think it’s great once you have it figured out.

Aims for dropping and trading. It’s a completely garbage archaich system.

Thanks, wish we had PBS... still line bidding

I've been at Horizon for a few years, long enough to experience line bidding, line bidding + SAP (Schedule Adjustment Process), and PBS. I missed most of the "line bidding + SAP" phase as a new captain on reserve. In my opinion, our PBS system has been the best system for me. It takes some practice to figure out, but I typically get 14-16 days off a month and trips that I enjoy.

I was initially concerned about switching from line bidding to PBS, but it's worked out well for most of us. Note that any bidding system is only going to be as good as your work rules!

For day-to-day stuff, we use AIMS. It's pretty basic.

Ecrew stinks. Let Kate help
Kate can drop pilot trips via Ecrew. Just send a text. $50 a trip or reserve day.

Painless and did it for years.

Good luck!

Sorry, I know it’s a bit of a different question… but could someone share how schedules tend to look these days? Are there many 1-3 day trips? I’m mostly interested in shorter trips. My family and I are planning to move to base.

Do you already have a class date with horizon? My understanding is that they are only bringing on pilots from the pilot development program with them getting rid of half of their fleet.

Yes there are plenty of trips 1-3 days in length. I wouldn’t recommend coming to Horizon right now though. Shrinking fleet and low pay relative to other regionals (AA wholly owned). Not likely to change anytime soon.

That greatly depends on where you are based and what aircraft you fly
