This is very scary! Glad the crew was able to handle this and land safely! Here’s the audio.

Hearing wrong approach selected in FMC followed by botched go around where they failed to do the initial flap raise prior to raising the gear which caused the warning horn in the background.

Is this what happens when French pilots have to hand fly?

Details emerge of Air France B777 landing incident (aerotime.aero)

Helps when only one person tries to fly at a time.

They were so eager to do it they did it at the same time.

The famous Air France "we have controls" technique.

I went back and forth for days trying to decide whether to ask a question out of fear that someone would snap at me but I’m curious so here it goes 😊. What happens if in a situation like this one the pilot flying is having trouble and the pilot monitoring says “I have control” or “my airplane” but the other pilot refuses to relinquish control? I know that the captain has ultimate authority, but is there ever a situation where a first officer can demand to take control because the captain is clearly not taking the proper corrective action and the first officer can assume authority and override the captain?

The FO is expected to take over if the CA is not functioning properly. If the CA doesn't cooperate, well that's why you get paid the big bucks.

But such a situation would be exceptionally rare, at least in low power-distance cultures.

Lol. Both you and Excargogod stopped where my question begins. What happens if the pilot refuses to relinquish control upon being commanded to do so? [SECURITY].

You have the rest of your life to figure it out.

Lol. You must enjoy being cryptic! Ok. I’ll assume the captain gets the final say and if he/she is wrong then so be it. Thanks.
