Gleim's products are very good. Only use the latest edition. Their site shows a 2022 edition available, not an edtion number.

Gleim works fine, but remember that the Gleim study book is a test prep, and doesn't replace learning the material.

Yes, they change the questions routinely so you...

1) Need the latest edition.
2) Need to check their website for any late-breaking updates before taking the test.

And again, this is for test prep only, doesn't actually teach you the material, need different books for that.

Take a look at the FAA website and you can download everything for free:

https://www.faa.gov/regulations_poli...dbooks_manuals

No need to pay for anything yet.
There are also websites where you can practice tests for free.

You need the online course in addition to the software in order to actually get a sign off to take the test. Otherwise you’ll need a CFI to sign off on it

Gleim red books are what I used. Great material.

I've used some Gleim products and they are great. But like someone else said make sure you get some sort of sign off before he goes to take the test. I think I used King Schools for my private and instrument and they had a print out at the end showing you completed the course as necessary to qualify to take said test.
