How many flight hours are most NJA pilots doing per month?

It depends on what schedule you are on and what airplane you are in. Most fleets are between 3 and 4 flight hours per duty day on average. The Challenger 350 and Latitude are the 2 busiest fleets. The average pilot on the 7&7 on those fleets would be around 60 hours in a normal month. A pilot on the XLS or Sovereign would be closer to 45 on average on the 7&7. These are averages based on the numbers put out every 4 or so months from the union. Some tours will be significantly more and some significantly less. If you live in a very inconvenient location that typically takes most of all of your first and last day to get to and from the airplane, your average will be less. If you live near TEB, PBI, or DAL you will probably average more than most. There are lots of variables and only some are under your control.

Quote: It may not mean anything compared to <1 year upgrades at UAL, DAL, etc., but the most junior Captain at NJA is now a March 2015 hire. So upgrade is now at about 7 1/2 years and dropping.
Most junior PIC on the Phenom is a Feb 2018 hire. So upgrade time is now exactly 5.0 years.

This is true today, for someone hired in 2018. Someone hired in 2021 could possibly upgrade in 2 years from date of hire… However, someone hired in 2021 could also upgrade in 15 years…. Dependent on a lot of variables to come.

If you are hired today, you might be 800+ numbers from a PIC slot. If PIC/SIC ratios stabilize, might be looking at 5-7 years upgrade again.

very dynamic situation

Dynamic? The bid award drop today was downright whacked. Across the board.

Would you mind giving a brief run down of the award. I’m on vacation with no phone and have heard this from a couple friends.

And that 5 year upgrade will drop to 2.5 soon enough.

I try to only post what is, not what may be. As others have pointed out, promises in the past have been very, very wrong.
