Hi folks,

I was wondering if one was interested in doing the 200hr pro course, what time of year would you all suggest for a start date considering the following:

1.) Weather delays(e.g- Summer thunderstorms)
2.) Busiest period of the year with the highest enrollment of students(I would like to avoid this time for scheduling reasons)
3.)Availability of examiners for checkrides and stage checks(especially for CFI-CFII-MEI, as I was of the impression that this is the most time consuming stage).

Assume you are talking about a motivated student who is proactively working towards a 5-6 month timeframe from start to completion.

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

I had no problems in the winter months. Wx was pretty good and was able to fly 2-3 times a day. From what I hear they are getting short on instructors now, especially with the airlines hiring the way they are. Usually my checkrides were scheduled a few days in advance, didn't have to wait long at all. Most stagechecks were scheduled a day or two in advance. I still flew up to the day of the checkrides and all.

My guess is that the summer months would have the highest amount of students due to schools being out, however I don't know what it's like down there now. It may not take you 5-6 months if you get there in the winter...if your really proactive.
