MCO captain resigned this week with 16.5 years on property at Southwest Airlines. He will now be one of the latest new-hires to join American Airlines.
Huge move. Wishing him the best for a happy and prosperous 2nd bite at the apple.
The hits keep on coming for the LUV airline.

Bet he wishes he had taken the million dollars to go away a few years back. And he'd be a captain again already by now... That side business stuff must make this job just a goof.

To be fair, he lived close to the base he's going to and he was driving 3 plus hours to our base to sit weekend reserve.. after almost 2 decades or commuting for seniority. He wasn't doing it for the money...

There was a 17 year OAK Capt in class at UA last year. Guess he was a Bay Area local and wanted to do some different flying, got SFO 787.
