Default Are you getting interview prep for a regional

Just asking around about career preparation for a regional job. If you did so, your thoughts on whether it helped or was necessary at all? I'm all for going in prepared, just curious if this level of guidance is necessary in the current environment.

I would only bother for a regional if you have some serious background issue which might need to be addressed carefully and correctly.

In this climate that would probably be more than three checkride busts, non-traffic criminal convictions, or possibly multiple employment terminations. Stuff like that.

I guess I'll add that if there's one and only regional which has a junior base such that you can drive to work, I'd probably pull out all the stops to make sure I didn't screw that one up somehow. Interview prep is cheaper than commuting, on multiple levels.

I got interview prep for it and it was worth it. $500 is a drop in the bucket and you’ll get it back pretty quick. Don’t take the interview or the training for granted just because it’s “only” a regional.

Interview prep for a REGIONAL? no way. Just know basic IFR rules and stuff, have a good personality, and thats all.

Two say no need, one thumbs up for interview prep. Anyone regret not being better prepared and what it would have taken to be so?

No review prep. Just a couple simple tell me about a time scenarios and brief an approach plate. I subscribed to aviationinterviews to get an idea what was being asked and that helped more than anything.

3 regional interviews, 3 CJOs, each interview lasted no more than 7 minutes.

It used to be that as long as you meet the min qualifications and didn't come off as a douchebag in the interview you were hired. However most regionals are not looking for FOs right now unless they are near CA ready (like within 500 hour of upgrade). So if you are a CFI looking to get hired straight to the regionals, you may need some interview prep because it has just come much more competitive.
