Our NC has been eaten by the shark

From the NC that rebranded the Variable plan as the Stabilized plan - for the exact same stack of pancakes. How many of our $millions were squandered pursuing something we did not want? Think about that as our NC entertains and 'further discusses' this stupid pay idea. An idea we cannot even clearly understand who introduced it. The obfuscation and lack of transparency from our union in the name of top secret negotiations is once again going to bite us in the a$$. As theTank said earlier, we need to see the TA'd sections now, to even know where we stand.

Be prepared for the possibility of a concession-laden document being sold as the "Highest Overall Dollar Value" CBA or some sh•t like that.

This really feels like the slow-moving train wreck from a movie I watched before.

Quote: Delta would be a Concession. That’s the problem and you don’t even understand it. Do they have a pension? Do they have PBS? What’s your vacation worth? Shows how uneducated many are. You are parading around a Delta Contract that you wouldn’t want to touch with a 10 foot pole. So are you willing to take the entire Delta Contract?
I said DELTA +

Oncewasgood, you pop out of nowhere a month after NoWork was banned. Your spiel is exactly like his. It would be sad if this next contract wasn’t so dang important to our careers. You speak as though you have inside knowledge of our operation, yet troll us like a paid anti-labor lawyer. I don’t know who you are and I don’t care. What I want to know is, what do you want? Do you believe we can’t keep our pension and have pay commensurate with Delta? Personally, I don’t give two shats that we have some items in our contract that are better than theirs. I do know this corporation stood on our shoulders for two freakin years. Our thanks is a drawn out negotiation, stock buyback, and a final slap in the face with the dividend increase. I believe your goal is to convince us to take a less than stellar contract. If you are one of us, that’s truly unfortunate. For the many thousands of lurkers, decide what your worth is and vote accordingly. But please don’t let this guy convince you you’re already compensated above and beyond our peers with their shiny new contracts.

this is silly. When one says delta plus a nickel they clearly mean pay rates only. Delta’s overall contract is quite good - it’s of course made with 117 in mind and their system form which is completely different but no one is talking about their entire CBA.

what is a rationale comparison is the IMPROVEMENTS Delta has had since their last contract (or even one before that). They had some huge improvements just in this round - as compared to their last contract. I’d like to see an equal improvement here - actually more since I think our schedules are a LOT tougher than theirs and overall we generally make less than them.

Pay rates are critical. Retirement money is not a guarantee by any means but the pay check I’m getting 2x a month is. So I’m all for delta plus a nickel on pay rates (yes I know a lot here will say that’s way too low). Matching that with the known improvement in our retirement that likely still won’t equal Deltas DC with cash over cap plus profit sharing.

would it?

we’d lose line bidding and vacation (kinda, their vacation is pretty good now) but almost every other sector would be a sizeable gain.

what other areas do we actually lead in? I know there’s maybe a few more, but for the most part we are so far behind.

No, I’m willing to cherry pick from it and the other legacy contracts as well. Why? Because our schedules are harder. So we deserve the best. Don’t you think we’ve earned that?

If that’s truly how you feel, then you should attend on Tuesday and make your voice heard. Time for a strike vote now or get new leadership that will stand up for us and against the company.
