I have 1200TT 100ME have not flown in 10years. Had a CFI it has expired a long time ago. ATP has a CFI course, they told me to come down and fly and get my rating's I am not current and not proficiant. They advise Me that it will only take 15Hrs to obtain my CFI,MEI,II, this sounds funny

Any thoughts on this!!! I am thinking of trying the RJ thing, but unsure at this time. I just dont see how this can be done?

It can be done cause they have getting a guy through quick, and at min standards, down to an art form.

You'll benefit from already having your ME and an expired CFI. Just be sure to be VERY IFR proficient. I think they let you use the sims for free. I'd make use of that and be sure to go into it as well prepared as possible. They expect you to show up already prepared.

You meet 135 mins, which is half the battle. Even consider night freight for six months as a way to move up? Again, you'd have to get well brushed up on IFR, but starting pay is better than first year pay at the regionals, and you'd be in a good position to take your pick of regional jobs. Besides, you'd end up a much better stick in the end.

I was thinking this too. Just gotta get re-current before you go applying IMHO.

My CFI ratings expired too. I think I'd like them back/renewed. I'm current (in a jet), but have not flown small planes or instructed (except a few thousand hours checkairman in a RJ) since 1996. Anyone know of a place in NE PA or NW NJ to do a good and cheap renewal?

Thanks.
