Ground instructor option
Quote: Or you could take a ground instructor written exam and get a ground instructor certificate. There’s no flying or checkride involved. You’d also have to pass a Fundamentals of Instruction written which covers how people learn. Check out FAR 61 subpart I.

EAA local chapter
Quote: Thanks John for sharing. I found an EAA chapter close to where I live and plan to visit their monthly event. Getting to meet people interested in flying seems fun. Thanks once again
I attended the local EAA chapter and met many people. Also bought a XPlane 12 simulator and a joystick. This is fun.
I really would benefit studying for the exam with a buddy or discussing in a forum. But have not been able to locate any.
