Just another reason to get the MMA program up and running ASAP. I know the current P-3C would not be able to track them.

Slightly off topic, but any idea what kind of sub this is in this photo?

IF I could see the sail I could tell. An OHIO put probably a LA class sub. Although the Seawolf class is out there too. I would but my money on a LA class.

No mention of new technologies on the new SSBN. What makes you think we couldn't track it in the mighty Orion?

If you measure the length of the sub and then compare that to RWY distance markings above it ( You need to magnify the photo ) you can see that it is between 500-800 ft in length (estimate). Which if it is a US sub (most likely) would almost guarantee that it is an OHIO as they are approx 560 ft in length and LA/Seawolf etc are approx 320-350 in length. If it's non-US you could still narrow down the suspects to a few nuclear boats based off of this length estimate.
