Quote: Nope. PM wants pancakes, most of us don't. In general the younger crowd wants a much larger B fund contribution with cash over cap. PM didn't want to hear it, though.
The proposed plan was not the IHOP plan, it was designed to be a DC plan with some benefits (protection) of a DB plan for the 11%. I totally see how some want it all in DC so they can invest in whatever funds or schemes that they want and I am sure the polling will dictate if a significant change to retirement is needed to meet the goals and ratify. If swapping to a DC only plan is what people want, I can't see much resistance or barriers, should be relatiovely easy to match the big 3 and move the MBCBP to a spillover plan.

You have a way of taking great points and expressing them in such a way that even people who agree with you want to tell you to GFY. A lot of senior guys voted against the TA when voting for it would have been personally rewarding for them. I am one. Had the TA been ratified we "old guys" would have seen many benefits and almost zero downside. Keep that in mind when lecturing people on how the young guys have arrived to save us from ourselves. It's almost a biblical miracle that we made it this far without you here to hold our hand. This is coming from someone who agrees with most of your tirade.

It seems very odd for a brand new poster with no posting background to anonymously post private conversations in order to rile people up. As if there is actually something wrong, and some sort of evil conspiracy with people talking to and organizing with other like minded people for action. Almost sounds like a union. And it makes me wonder if the instigator of this thread is management, or did this on the instruction of management?

I know you haven’t ever been told this but it’s just not about you, the younger crowd and their desires. We have young, middle aged and older. We have old new hires and relatively young senior members. All have different wants and needs to feel like they’re getting a good deal. Just because you and your circle say, “Hey, we’ve only been here 3 years and we want a big b fund with cash over cap and we are the only ones who matter” doesn’t make it the best for all. There are plenty of places that offer what you seek and yet you came here expecting this crew Force to accommodate your desires 🤔

I think you're confused. I was responding to another poster's implication that the "new(er) generation" desired pancakes. That is an often-repeated lie to make it sound like the pancakes were a great deal for younger pilots. They were not. The weak retirement gains in the TA were focused almost entirely on those close to retirement at the expense of everyone else, which makes your post that much more ironic.

I think the younger crowd understands this more than you do.

The young crowd wants a great TA for everyone with a sustainable retirement fix..

Most (but not all) of the old crowd don't care about concessions that affect the young and middle aged, they don't care that our pay in TA 1.0 was worse than even ULCC carrriers, they don't care about anything besides their pension increase, which TA1.0 didn't even really do because the "gains" to the pension in TA1.0 didn't even keep up with inflation beginning at the amendable date which makes it even more pathetic.

WE HAVE A WINNER. Stop the infighting and ask yourself why seating the newly elected reps in the upcoming election is being fought. Why all the scare mongering, these lowlife tactics of posting personal information? Why making a small group of grassroots organizers the "fall guy" and ignoring 57% of the pilot group. And is management or pseudo management driving this? Weaponizing the dues we pay against us? If you really want to root out the corruption in Alpa, the special interests, show up Council 26 and vote.
