CVG

So I'm a senior-ish captain at RPA. I'm with the training dept, making between 205-240 an hour depending on if I'm instructing or not. I live 20 mins from CVG, and have been making the drive to CMH or IND for over a decade. I have zero desire to commute (flying), hence why I'm looking for options nearby. I'm fairly happy with the job, especially the instructing part, but the line flying...one gets tired of 4 legs through the NE every day. That, and I wonder if RPA will still be around in 20 years when I'm ready to retire. A few questions:

1. Does it seem like CVG will be a long-term base for Frontier?

2. What are the odds of getting it out of training?

3. If you were in my position (see above), would you make the jump to Frontier?

Thanks all.

1. It's anybody's guess. The only constant at F9 is change.

2. Very good.

3. Only if you want out of training and want to go fly the line for a paycut. You won't make $205 until upgrade, call it 2 years-ish, and $240 will take several years due to our ridiculous pay slope.

Caveat to #2 above. By the time you'd onboard the SJU base will be open and is likely to be the most junior base. So you could get that out of training before getting CVG.
