What does 100 domiciles mean to me?

What an amazing idea, 100 domiciles. But does anyone have any information about how this concept is to be executed? Does anyone know of any articles or official details? I can't imagine being domiciled in, say, Charleston SC being the same, practically speaking, as being domiciled in Dallas. But I haven't found any specifics. Thanks.

All it means is that is where you start and end your tour. At a fractional, when you go to work, you are assigned a tail number generally for the entire week. You go where they schedule the airplane to go. At the end of the week they fly you back to your base from where ever they plan to do the crew swap. It doesn't matter if it is one of 5 bases or one of 100 bases.

Fractionals, by nature, do not really have "bases" in sense that airlines do. We don't know very far in advance where we are going the next day. Heck, the sat-phone rings and changes the plan as we are flying A-B and makes it A-C or A-D even.

So compared to Delta, say, instead of having to take a hop over to ATL in order to get to work I would get to start my trip from home, assuming it's 1 of the 100? That still sounds like quite a convenience. When are you on the clock? Cheers,

Your duty time starts usually 1 1/2 hours before your airline is scheduled to depart. I thinks it's a little more at larger airports. Your per diem starts at this time and ends when your airline arrives back home 7 days later.

The 1, 1.5, and 2 hour airline shows is gone in the new contract. It is now 1 hour, go at a professional pace, and the burden of proof is on the company and not the pilot if you can't make it.

You are on the clock at your show time. Your brief will have a show time and a go time. These times can be all over the place. You could get show at 0600 at TEB (assuming this is your base). Go by taxi to JFK at 0700. Airline on Brand X departing at 0800. or Show at TEB at 0600 and GO at 8:30 from TEB in tai number 555QS with 2 pax. Either way, your clock started at 0600.

Remember, you pick your base from the list of 100. There are no max or mins for manning at a base. All H-400 SICs can be based in VNY if the pilots want.

The other really groovy thing about the new 100-base setup is that you can change your base as many times per year as you want. The only stipulation is you must give them 30 days notice prior to doing so.

For example, you could sell your house, buy an RV and live in a different city every other month.

Fly the plan, don't play games, stick to the original plan!

I wish. Three different TYPES (G-450, V, 550) with 35.7 block hours over 5 days this tour. To say I'm beat would be an understatement. Then again, I flew two live legs and only worked 3 of 7 days over Thanksgiving week so....
