i know this question has probably been asked a million times but i need the advise. im in a saab 340 on the right side for a 121 operator. hopefully i will be moving to the left within the next year. my question is, what is the best way now to start getting ready for trying to get with ups or fedex. i know i still have 3years or so to go but i dont want to get there and made some mistakes on lack of knowledge. so if anyone out there can help i would really appricate any advise whatsoever!

I would "advise" you to look for "advice" REDWAVE

Assume you have a 4-year degree, which has been mandatory for FedEx at least. Take the upgrade and get PIC time. Network: stay in touch with guys/gals who move on and get acquainted with pilots at the companies you want to work for. Recommendations are key.

If you know someone in management at UPS, keep in touch.

Get to know as many people at FedEx and UPS.

Good Luck!

P.S. I think FedEx likes people that were involved in something "extra" (meaning training dept., check airman duties, etc.) .....at least that is what a FedEx captain told me.
