TS Clearance
Sad to say, TS doesn't get you much.

It can get you into a major contractor such as Boeing or Lockheed-Martin, but TS (and even TS/SCI) is viewed as more of an entry-level clearance.

My brother works for LM---he can't even tell me the name of his clearance!!

EG&G flies out of Vegas, and a TS is good for them--but they like guys with lots of hours.

Blackwater? Or what ever Air America is called these days.

If I told you I'd have to kill you, sorry.

T.S.... does that mean Trans Sexual?

Slim, it depends.

How did you get your TS? In what capacity are you using it now?

But I suspect T38 Phlyer is right--a TS will get you a call as an engineer or security specialist, probably not much as a pilot.

If you hadn't asked you could fly one of those black helicopters that will now be following you around.

couple of contractors

Also check out northrop grumman, they also have subsidiary companies doing flights ops.

Other companies:

Also check out Airscan.

For government jobs, you need a clearance to fly for FAA but you also need to know somebody to get hired there. There's also CBP (they will send you to their border patrol academy), and DEA (but have to be an agent first).

There's also dyncorp

Here is a pretty comprehensive list, not all of them operate aircraft, and I can think of a couple companies that are not listed. PM me if you wish.

You need a TS clearance for the Janet flights out of vegas. Here's a thread:

and another thread

I also saw a company hiring predator B pilots, only needed a private with instrument and a TS clearance, but wouldn't you rather be in the plane?

I know of a contractor that's a northrop grumman subsidiary and they hire mostly exmilitary guys to fly turboprob twins, they had a roster of like 15 pilots and only one of them was not military but he was type rated on a 747 and lots of hours.

Doubt there's many flying jobs here, but plenty of TS jobs.

There are a lot of decent paying Gov jobs/ Gov contract jobs out there that would highly value your TS. The problem is that they probably are not flying related. And where you only have 500 hours; that's really not competitive either, unless you're planning on getting in on one of the regionals listed in the forums here.

Bottom line: The TS will help you get a decent paying non-flying job. It probably won't help you get a flying job though, unless you go fly for a Gov agency, i.e. CIA, FBI, DEA etc.
